Why timing matters more than the treatment
Skin cells take roughly 28 days to turn over. A pigmentation patch, active breakout or dull tone needs at least two to three of those cycles to visibly settle — that's 8 to 12 weeks minimum, and that's if nothing goes wrong along the way. Start earlier than you think you need to, even if the first few sittings feel like nothing is happening; the change shows up later.
A realistic timeline
If your wedding date is fixed, work backward from it like this:
- 6 months out — book a consultation, even if you're not starting treatments yet. This is when we flag anything, like pigmentation or sensitivity, that genuinely needs a longer runway.
- 3 months out — start monthly facials suited to your skin type, plus a simple home routine: cleanser, moisturiser, SPF, non-negotiably.
- 6 weeks out — this is the window for anything targeted: de-tan sittings, brightening facials, addressing specific patches.
- 2 weeks out — your last new treatment. Nothing untested after this point.
- Final week — maintenance only. One gentle facial at most, five or more days before the wedding so any redness fully settles.
What to skip in the final week
This is where most damage happens, not before it. Avoid trying a new product, a new salon, or a home remedy someone's cousin swore by. Raw lemon, baking soda and DIY bleach packs cause more pre-wedding rashes than anything applied professionally — test anything new three months earlier, when there's time to recover, not during wedding week.
If you're already short on time
Not every bride gets six months. If you're starting a month out, we won't pretend a facial will transform deep pigmentation — but we can still get you hydrated, calm and even-toned enough that makeup sits beautifully. Come in and tell us your actual timeline; we'll build a plan around it instead of a routine that assumes ninety days you don't have.

Frequently asked questions
How far in advance should bridal skin prep start?
Ideally 3 to 6 months before the wedding. That gives skin enough turnover cycles to show real change, and enough time to course-correct if something doesn't suit you.
What if my wedding is only a few weeks away?
You can still do a lot — hydration, calming active breakouts and a good clean-up routine make a visible difference in a month. We'll just skip anything aggressive or untested this close to the date.
Do I need a dermatologist as well as a salon?
For persistent acne, active pigmentation disorders or anything medical, yes — we'll tell you honestly if something is outside what a facial can fix, rather than keep booking you in for sittings that won't help.
